An Adventif local guide will meet you at Sofia airport and transfer your group to Rila Mountains. We will stay in a cosy guesthouse in Govedartsi, a picturesque village at the foot of Rila Mountains. We will have dinner and your local guide will brief you about the upcoming Adventure.
We will leave our guesthouse in the morning to explore Borovets, its beautiful architecture and amazing atmosphere. You can also ride a horse in Borovets if you wish - our treat for you! (and don’t worry, there will be a professional instructor on site)
Our mountain leader will join us on Day 3 as it’s time for some serious mountain experience! We will head to a small mountain resort called Panichishte to take the open-chair-lift to the Rila Lakes hut where we can have some hot drinks before we head to our first target - the majestic Seven Rila Lakes. If the weather is clear, we can actually see all of them from the top of the mountain. We will take the lift back to Panichishte before heading back to Govedartsi.
Our next target is Malyovitsa peak - after our breakfast we head to Malyovitsa hut, where we can have some hot drinks and prepare to climb the 2729-metres-high peak. The view from the top is breath taking, the panoramic views towards Rila and the Rila Monastery are spectacular.
In our last mountain hike in Rila, we will climb the highest peak in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula - Musala (2925m). After breakfast we will go to the Yastrebets Gondola lift in order to get up to Musala hut. From there we will pass by the Muzalenski Lakes in order to reach the highest point of the Balkans! There are some amazing views on our way to the top.
On Day 6 we will go to one of the most popular historic monuments in Bulgaria that, despite its remote location, attracts thousands of visitors every year - the Rila Monastery. We will then reach the capital Sofia and spend the night in a 3* hotel.
A single timed transfer to Sofia Airport.
